Drug trafficking charges
Emma Turnbull Lawyers have a particular niche practice in the defence of drug charges. Drug offences can include:
- Cultivation of drugs
- Trafficking of drugs
- Manufacture of drugs
- Possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Commonwealth offences of importation of border controlled substances.
The team at Emma Turnbull Lawyers have extensive experience in defending drug charges and we have a very particular team of barristers that we brief to appear in County and Supreme Court trials for our clients.
In recent years the law has become more complex and the risks to an individual if you are convicted of drug trafficking have extended beyond a prison sentence. Property can be subject to Forfeiture Orders and a sentencing judge can make a Pecuniary Penalty Order (that you pay the equivalent income tax you should have paid had your drug trafficking income been lawfully obtained).
If you are a drug user, Turnbull Lawyers can refer you to a number of different organisations to assist you in your rehabilitation (whether residential or in the community) and preparation for Court to ensure you obtain best possible outcome.
Please refer to our Judgements page under In the Media tab for a selection of some of the recent drug cases Emma Turnbull Lawyers have been involved in.
