Yvette joined Emma Turnbull Lawyers as a lawyer following her admission to practice in June 2021. Prior to this time she was an invaluable Legal Assistant with the team for over two years.
Yvette completed a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New England, with a focus on Criminal Law and Sentencing. Yvette has a strong academic record, achieving subject prizes at university for Criminal Sentencing and Punishment, Corporations Law, Equity and Trusts, Advanced Torts and Law in Context.
On commencing her studies, Yvette quickly developed a passion for Criminal Law. Yvette brings to her work empathy, dedication, and a commitment to social justice.
Yvette has undertaken volunteer work as a Paralegal at Darebin Community Legal Centre where she assisted clients in a variety of matters, including criminal and family violence cases.
Yvette is admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and specialises in criminal defence advocacy.
Yvette appears in Magistrates’ Court matters, as well as assisting Counsel with matters in the County Court and Supreme Court.
